A bright, bouncy, beautiful black undercover detective Is assigned to investigate a huge West Coast drug operation. Working through the syndicate leader's mistress, Christie blows her cover and is marked for death by a string of hoodlums from Seattle to Miami.
Christie throws a small town into an uproar and becomes the target for attacks by some of the residents, when she arrives to pick up a witness and stays to help the sheriff find the killer of one of his officers. Seeking extradition of a witness in a Los Angeles homicide, Christie enters the northern California town of Monroe shortly after local officer Wayne Courtney is found slain. When Sheriff Burl Taggart takes a frightened young Mexican - American couple into custody as suspects, the local reactionaries cry out for prompt "justice." Believing the couple to be innocent, Christie plunges into the investigation and is harassed by a segment of the community, including a motorcycle gang.
