Arriving just a bit too far ahead of the mid-nineties alternative comedy wave, this short-lived, brilliantly conceived and written (albeit low budget and 80s-corny) sit-com really showed comedy fans the true depth of Elliott's talent. And there was a lot of it to see. The show also featured breakthrough hit for indie darlings R.E.M., "Stand." "Get a Life" would unfortunately go the way of other cult classics such as "Fridays," "Mr. Show" "and "Arrested Development"; ignored and HATED by their Network, completely missed by the critics, and underrated by the viewing public.
