Under den sidste del af 2. verdenskrig var Gestapochefen Fritz Bolle en af de mest frygtede mænd i Aalborg. Han stod bag tortur, fængslinger og henrettelser af modstandsfolk, og hans brutalitet satte dybe spor i befolkningen i Nordjylland. Fritz Bolle er måske den største krigsforbryder i Nordjyllands historie, og konsekvenserne af hans handlinger mærkes stadig den dag i dag.
