Das Spezialkommando lässt sich einer regelmässigen Qualifikation unterziehen. Diesmal führt ein Militärpsychologe das Kommando - und bringt das Team an den Rand des Zusammenbruchs. Gleichzeitig setzen bei Eds Frau die Wehen ein.

Team One grapples with life and death choices and tough decisions that leave viewers wondering if the team will ever be the same again. Dr. Larry Toth (guest star Victor Garber), a military psychologist and ‘team-breaker’, peers inside the heads of Team One individually, exposing deep secrets and faults. With the fate of the Team hanging in the balance, Ed’s (Hugh Dillon) wife Sophie (Janaya Stephens) goes into labour, Parker’s (Enrico Colantoni) leadership is questioned, Spike (Sergio Di Zio) and Wordy (Michael Cram) stare down the barrel of a life outside the SRU, and Sam (David Paetkau) and Jules (Amy Jo Johnson) must confront whether they’re willing to give up the job for each other. As Parker waits to hear the fate of his team, a devastating call comes into the station, involving one of his own.

Toute l'équipe de Greg Parker doit passer des tests d'aptitude physique et psychologique pour déterminer si chacun est apte au service. Ed soupçonne le commandant Holleran d'avoir ordonné cet examen mais celui-ci dément. Si les évaluations physiques sont concluantes, il n'en va pas de même avec les entretiens psychologiques qui sont menés par Larry Toth, un médecin rigide réputé pour être un briseur d'équipe.
