Miraculously, Fern survives 911, although she is unable to walk and has to be wheelchair-bound. Wilson stays by her side until she regains her ability to walk again. Nont travels to the US to meet Wilson and convince him to sell Fern's house but the latter insists on not selling it because it belongs to the woman he loves. Nont learns that Wilson is Fern's suitor and sadly departs after telling Wilson to keep Fern's house safe. However, one of Wilson's shareholders put the house up for auction without Wilson's knowledge sometime later. Nont is furious that Wilson did not keep his word to protect the house and joins the auction to bid for it.
