After being attacked by Archer and just barely managing to survive, Shirou returns to school determined to show Rin what's what. Suddenly the school becomes a battlefield, with all of the student's lives on the line.
Having been attacked by Rider at the school and realizing Caster's master must be their beloved teacher Kazuki, Rin and Shirou immediately set out to do him a death. Immediately. Like right away, that very moment. As Kazuki walks the kinda crazy walk home (like have you seen how far he walks?) he is confronted, and Shirou chooses this moment to confront the elephant in the room.
In a desperate effort to draw out Caster, Rin takes the group on a date to the city across the river. They bicker, they argue, they sandwich. Then suddenly tragedy strikes, altering the fate (unlimited blade works) of the war moving forward. It’s hella sad.

After Saber is taken by Caster, the group heads to the Kotomine church to try to get her back. While there, the tide of the war shifts as Rin loses her most trusted ally, just on the fringe of forcing him to admit to the secrets he’d been keeping. There are a lot of comments about butts.
Shirou Emiya and Rin Tohsaka head toward the Einzbern castle, hoping to get the aid of Ilyasviel and Berserker. Little did they know that on this very day, at that very hour, another visit was there to destroy their plans. Just absolutely obliterate them.
The final assault on Kotomine Church begins! With a new ally on hand, Rin and Shirou take the fight to Caster and look to end the Grail War. Just when things seem most hopeful, however, a new old familiar old enemy friend enemy appears/was always there actually.
Failing his gamble to kill Shirou, Archer becomes desperate and reassesses. In the most climactic info dump the series has yet to see, Archer's origins and motivations are finally laid bare. Shinji's also being a creep. Just... just the worst. Like. Blech.
