Afghan Pastries and Family Style Kababs: Silk Road Part 2

In the second installment of FTD's exploration of the cuisine of Central Asia and nearby regions, we have found ourselves firmly rooted in Afghanistan. We start the episode at Diljan Bakery, a relatively new spot that combines classic Afghan breads and sweets into a modern New York bakery/coffee shop. From there, we head to Astoria, Queens, a fool’s paradise of delicious food from around the world to dine at Sami's Kabab House. Sami's is famous for their kabab platters, so we had to have one. For dessert, we walked up the block to Little Flower Cafe, the owner of Sami's son's place, for an espresso and pancake finisher. This episode is a family affair. Enjoy!
