Viewers will witness how the design team provided a new home with much-needed extra space for Kansas City, Missouri firefighter Stephen Johnson and his five children - two of whom he adopted. Johnson is a hero to many, including the paramedic whose life he saved when he was called to the scene of a house explosion. The rebuilding of their home will be the subject of ""Extreme Makeover: Home Edition - How'd They Do That?"" As with all of the intense remodeling projects that ""Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"" undertakes, there is a great deal that goes on that does not make it into the final broadcast.
