โปดก ต้องรีบเดินทางกลับมาดูใจ ถมปัด เป็นครั้งสุดท้าย เพราะถมปัดถูกลอบยิงอาการโคม่า ถมปัดสั่งเสียก่อนสิ้นลมด้วยความเป็นห่วง ปะวะหล่ำ ให้โปดกช่วยแต่งงานกับปะวะหล่ำลูกสาวคนเดียวของเธอ เพราะถมปัดรู้ดีว่านี่คือทางเดียว ที่จะช่วยให้ปะวะหล่ำรอดพ้นปากเหยี่ยวปากกา โดยเฉพาะ ศพล ซึ่งเป็นพ่อแท้ๆ ของเธอเอง ศพลต้องการฮุบที่ดินสวนส้มจำนวนมหาศาล โดยอาศัยความเป็นพ่อ และเบื้องหลังความตายของถมปัดก็คือศพลนั่นเอง
