ย้อนเวลาไปเกือบ 50 ปี ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศสวยงามของเมืองเชียงใหม่ กานท์ นักศึกษาหนุ่มหล่อจากบางกอก ไปเรียนที่เชียงใหม่ ได้ตกหลุมรัก สายไหม ทันทีที่ได้เห็นในงานวันสงกรานต์ จึงให้เพื่อนรักร่วมสถาบัน ตะวัน ช่วยค้นหาจนเจอและให้ช่วยชวน สายไหม ไปเที่ยวงานเลี้ยง แต่ สายบัว แม่ของ สายไหม ไม่อนุญาต เพราะจะให้ สายไหม เข้าพิธีหมั้นกับ ชาย โดยที่ สายไหม ไม่รู้มาก่อน หญิงสาวปฏิเสธเพราะไม่ได้รัก ชาย แม่สายบัว เลยเข้าใจผิดว่า สายไหม ชอบอยู่กับ ตะวัน
