Prabhunath is impressed with Aakash, whereas Poonam finds faults in him. Aakash intimidates Gullu and Radhe who stand outside Poonam's house and gawk at her. Suman tells Poonam that Aakash likes her, but Poonam denies it. Gautam's father beats his neighbours in a fight for water and spits in the water tanker. Gautam rebukes his brother, Nilu, for neglecting his studies. He tells them about Poonam's marriage proposal. He assures Poonam that he will not demand dowry.
