Auf der Suche nach einem starken Gegner wird Son-Goku Ken der Große empfohlen, der Meister der Kampfschule des neuen Sterns. Er findet ihn auch und gerät in einen Konflikt, bei dem Ken der Große von Tenlon, dem Leiter der Kampfschule der Schwarzen Panther zum Königskampf herausgefordert wird. Da Ken der Große krank ist, übernimmt Son-Goku den Kampf vor dem König. Trotzdem der Sohn Ken des Großen Son-Goku beim Frühstück ein Abführmittel einflößt, gewinnt Son-Goku gegen Tenlon. Am Ende werden alle Freunde und Son-Goku macht sich wieder auf den Weg.
Goku makes an enduring journey to challenge Master Chin. Chin is busy fending off Rising Dragon and his two men. Before Rising Dragon can begin a fight, his brother Sky Dragon stops him. Chin's agrees to workout with Goku, his son Shoken getting worried. Goku finds Chin has been in weak health lately and learns from him about the King's Tournament. Goku manages to get medicine for Chin, managing to avoid conflict with the Dragon brothers. Sky Dragon spends his time terrifying his students. Goku volunteers to take Chin's place in the King's Tournament. Jealous Shoken spikes Goku's breakfast. At the tournament Goku battles Sky Dragon as the laxative kicks in Goku, but he resists the effect and beats Sky Dragon. The Dragon brothers and students join Chin's teachings and Goku resumes his journey.
Goku arrive dans une ville ou un combat entre les spécialistes des deux dojo locaux va avoir lieu le lendemain. Le début du match est équilibré, d'autant plus que le fils de Taiken a dissimulé un laxatif dans le dernier repas de Son Goku ce qui déconcentre quelque peu notre héros. Mais rapidement Son Goku bat son adversaire avant de disparaître pour satisfaire un besoin pressant. Son Goku quitte la ville et ses nouveaux amis d'un épisode afin de continuer son apprentissage.

Chintaiken está ocupado defendiéndose de Rising Dragon y sus dos hombres, cuando este cae enfermo y debe ser defendido por Gokuh. Chintaiken le pide a Gokuh que pelee por él contra Rising Dragon en un combate frente al Rey de la Ciudad por lograr el respeto que su escuela de artes marciales merece. Gokuh pelea contra él, acabando vencedor. Los hermanos Dragón se unen a las enseñanzas de Chintaiken.
