    This week we find ourselves just outside of Apollo Bay in the Victorian Otway’s, paying a visit to Wildlife Wonders, a brand new native wildlife sanctuary. While there, we caught up with Fiona and Tracy from Skylos Ecology, who’s dogs Jimmy & Rex are helping to ensure that Wildlife Wonders remains predator free and is safe for it’s furry inhabitants.

    This week we’re still in Victoria’s Otway Ranges, the home of one of Australia’s most endangered animals, the Tiger Quoll. Sarah gets to meet Uda, the lovable Border Collie, who’s tasked with tracking and monitoring the local Tiger Quoll population. Plus, Sarah gets up close and personal with a Quoll named Nicquoll at the Conservation Ecology Centre.

    This week we find ourselves at Crib Point at a secret training location where some top dogs are trained in search and rescue operations. Sarah gets to meet the team behind Search & Rescue Dogs Australia (otherwise known as SARDA) as well as meeting some of their four-legged heroes.

    This week we find ourselves on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, just a half hour drive from the popular tourist town of Noosa. Here, we met with the team from the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia Detection Dogs, including Romane and her beautiful dogs Maya and Bear, and we learn about the important work they do to help monitor and improve koala habitat through the state. We also speak with Josey from ifaw and Meghan from the Queensland Koala Crusaders.

On a beautifully drizzly winters day, Sarah pays a visit to Jenny and her dogs Thomas and Maddie where she embarks on her very first truffle hunt – with the assistance of her new four-legged friends.

    It’s our last episode of series one and what a journey we’ve been on. From truffle sniffers, to koala dogs and dogs who help with children’s literacy – we’ve met a bunch. To round things out, we head to Sydney to catch up with a special dog who’s day job is protecting the National Maritime Museum from the habour seagulls. Plus we catch up with well-renowned author Laura Greaves, who’s made a career out of writing books about dogs.

    This week, Sarah finds herself paying a visit to Bellden Environmental Services just outside of Brisbane in Queensland. There she meets Dennis, who’s developed a process of using detection dogs to locate water wastage, which helps to preserve a precious natural resource. Plus, we revisit one of our favourite stories from season one – Eudy, who helps to protect the habitat for tiger quolls living in the Otway Ranges.
