Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings visit Chef Sam Mason at his loft in Williamsburg, NY to indulge in his one of a kind cuisine and play a few tracks. Sam's menu is comprised of the Sharon Steaks with Dap Rings and the When I Come Home Martini. Sharon performs her smash hit "Let Them Knock" & "100 Days, 100 Nights".
Together, Sam and Owen will cook up a Lamb inspired dish in honor of his UK meal, Lamb Loin with Razor Clam Ragu. Final Fantasy takes the stage to perform "Lewis takes Action" & "Midnight Directives".
Les Savy Fav take the stage to perform "Yawn, Yawn, Yawn" and "Bringing Us Down". While Sam will be cooking Les Savy Pheasant (Jerk Pheasant) with a side order of Mason Mofongo and Bahamian inspired Rum punch with Akee to wash it all down.
As a nod to MEN's preferred road food, Sam will be baking up a gaggle of Boom Boom Boom Buns and pairing them with Long Island Thai Iced Tea. Afterwards MEN will break out of the kitchen and perform "Credit Card Babies" and "Boom Boom Boom".
Sam will cook a low fat Can I Kick It Curry, Whip It Cauliflower and Rooi Moer, a Rooibos infused Gin with Apricot liquor, Chenin Blanc and Lemon. Kid Sister and Flosstradamus will perform "5-4-3-2-1", "Big Bills" and "Control".
YACHT swings by for some of Sam's Pyschic City (Mushroom) Picado and Summer (black garlic) bok choy. Also he will stir up his Lovage Sour, a Lovage infused grain alcohol with vermouth and gin. YACHT performs "Psychic City" and "Ring the Bell".
Award-winning singer-song writer, musical composer and actor Rufus Wainwright joins Sam Mason in the kitchen for a German-inspired meal and two very special performances. Because Rufus visits the German Alps every year, Sam has designed a meal that's reminiscent of that part of the world, but of course he adds a few culinary twists. Rufus claims his talent does not extend to the kitchen, but Sam still gets him to help prepare the delicious meal of Schnitzel at Last (rabbit schnitzel), Zebulon Spaetzle (mustard spaetzle) and New York Sauerkraut (parsnip sauerkraut). Once the meal is started, Rufus steps away to entertain Sam's friends with his song "Zebulon." When Rufus returns to the kitchen, he and Sam finish preparing the meal and Sam mixes The Judy, a sparkling Riesling cocktail. After they dine, it's time for Rufus to play an encore with the song, "Who Are You New York?"
Sam is thrilled that The Devil Makes Three are coming to visit. To celebrate their love of family style meals, Sam has created a truly comforting menu of roasted chicken and spiced carrots. The band performs "Black Irish" and "For Good Again".
The prolific band The Mountain Goats arrives at Sam's loft to dine and play music. Sam designs a vegetarian meal for the band. On the menu: cauliflower steaks, cauliflower puree and chickpea fries. Songs: "Psalms 40:2." and "1 Samuel 15:23".
The loft gets loud when the garage punk band The Murder City Devils stop by. Sam has created a menu inspired by the burrito joint where the band used to work. In between cooking The Murder City Devils plays "18 Wheels" and "I Drink the Wine."
VEGA are in town from Austin, TX and are coming to Sam's loft. Sam has designed a menu of pan seared red snapper with apricot garden salad. VEGA goes upstairs to play "No Reason" and "Well Known Pleasures."
My Brightest Diamond visits the loft with her string quartet, ready to play some of her beautiful tunes, and indulge in Sam's cooking. In between helping out with the meal, My Brightest Diamond performs the song, "Inside a Boy" and "Apples".
Theophilus London is ready to entertain Sam Mason and his friends with some of his new urban pop melodies, as well as dig into one of Sam's specialty meals. Theophilus performs two songs, "Humdrum Town" and "Julia".
Au Revoir Simone is paying a visit to their neighbor in Brooklyn, chef Sam Mason. He's making them a meal, and in return, they'll entertain him and his friends with an intimate concert performing "All or Nothing" and "Anywhere You Looked".
Lightspeed Champion is in town and ready to eat! Sam has planned a meal inspired by Dev's London roots and his love for falafel. Lightspeed plays "Marlene" and "I Don't Want to Wake Up Alone".
Sam's turning the loft into a party house, because the party master himself, Andrew W.K., is stopping by. On the menu: root beer braised beef brisket, ham hock and grits hush puppies and parsnip mash. Andrew performs "Party Hard" and "I Get Wet."
