A car, apparently out of control, rushes to its doom in a mountainous, uninhabited area of Madrid. And its only occupant is a tailor's dummy sitting at the wheel. The chief clue is the expensive tie on the dummy, a British-made tie that Jason notices on someone else in town.

SIERRA DE GUADARRAMA, ESPAÑA: 12 DE SEPTIEMBRE. Un policía motorizado persigue a un automóvil que se desplaza a excesiva de velocidad. Lo movimientos del auto se vuelven cada vez más erráticos, y eventualmente se estrella. Sin embargo, cuando el policía revisa al conductor, descubre que es un maniquí.
