John und Juliet unternehmen eine gefährliche Mission, um Johns Sohn zu retten. Zugleich wollen sie die Widerständler unterstützen. John überzeugt Leary, daß die Hives die Droge produzieren, um die Massen zu manipulieren. Doch dann kommt er dahinter, daß Jim Steele und seine Freundin Kim die wirklichen Produzenten sind...

Alerted to a planet size object transmitting a message to Earth, Bach orders Dr Carl Sagan to decode it while he keeps the news from Majestic's directors. And though he's kept in the dark, Albano agrees to ask the captured Gray to shed some light on its contents. Meanwhile, Loengard and Juliet use Dr Timothy Leary to find the San Francisco lab where the Hive has been producing a hallucinogen under the direction of Steele and Kim. And when Kim tosses the drug into John's face, it causes him to see their son aboard a Hive ship.

John découvre le laboratoire où les extraterrestres fabriquent leur substance hallucinogène. Sous l'emprise de cette drogue, il imagine son fils à bord du vaisseau-mère. De nouveau maître de ses sens, John est persuadé que ses visions sont prémonitoires. Il demande à Bach d'embarquer à bord d'un astronef ennemi, afin de retrouver son enfant...

John decide di fare da cavia per il Progetto Intrusione che lo condurrà dentro una nave Hive per ritrovare suo figlio. Bach viene destituito dal suo incarico, mentre uno dei suoi più stretti collaboratori si rivela essere uno degli alieni Hive.
