In Jurmala, Latvia, House 61 is nestled in a peaceful coastal landscape, surrounded by pine trees typical of the region. The architectural concept is based on the unpretentious use of concrete, a material that combines structural stability with great visual power.
The choreographer behind H61 explores the ways in which a once familiar environment can change so radically that it becomes unrecognisable. Can mystical forces transform what has been created by man? What happens in the mysterious nighttime hours?
H61 envisages the reunification of the past with the present environment. In search of a deeper sense of belonging, the main character strives to become one with a world that was once familiar to him. Between apocalyptic vision and hope, this dance proposal anticipates a new beginning through dance, architecture, images and sound.
