Shirley, the medium, places a curse on Eustace. The curse is that a raincloud floats over Eustace's head. The more heartless he is, the more extreme the storm gets. The only way to break the curse is for Eustace to show kindness. Courage has to hold a mirror up to Eustace's face, which causes Eustace to have a flashback and sees himself as a little boy in the mirror. He shows kindness by giving the little boy his hat because he is cold. He actually puts it on Courage's head thinking that he is the boy. The curse goes away, but then returns.
È il compleanno di Giustino e, mentre Marilù e Leone organizzano la festa, una signora di nome Shirley, che si definisce una povera anima derelitta in cerca di elemosine, suona a casa loro. Marilù le dà un sacco pieno di monetine, una torta e un vassoio da tè, Leone il suo dente d'oro. Giustino invece decide di sbatterle la porta in faccia e di ritornare a leggere il suo giornale senza darle niente. Shirley arrabbiata decide di lanciare un incantesimo di magia nera sull'uomo. Toccherà a Leone annullare l'incantesimo che sta facendo diventare pazzo Giustino.

Je weniger Mitleid er zeigt, desto stärker regnet es auf ihn. Dann bewegt eine Vision Eustache zu einer großmütigen Tat.
