Die Geschichte und das Wirken der „Schwestern der Sonne“ sind weitgehend unbekannt. Diese weiblichen Astronominnen wurden Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts in Harvard von zwei gehörlosen Frauen geleitet und katalogisierten die Sterne. Eine junge Britin, die mit ihnen zusammenarbeitete, widersprach mutig den Meinungen der damals führenden Experten und lehrte die Welt, woraus die Sterne wirklich bestehen.
