  • S2015E01 [OLD] Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas review

    • February 27, 2015

Released in 2004 by Rockstar Games, this was a video game that was in a league of its own with its sheer size, limitless gameplay, and celebrity voice talent, anybody who knows a thing about games will say... this is a masterpiece! NOTE: This is my first review of a video game so don't expect a masterpiece video...

  • S2015E02 [OLD] Crash Team Racing review

    • March 15, 2015

Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing were dominating the kart-racing genre on the Nintendo 64. Sony responded in 1999 by releasing Crash Team Racing exclusively for the PlayStation. Developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, this game delivers all the goods you’d expect from any kart-racing game with lots of colourful tracks, tight controls and an Adventure Mode. Certainly a classic in the kart-racing genre and on the PlayStation…

  • S2015E03 Sonic The Hedgehog (1991) review

    • April 17, 2015

Developed by the Sonic Team in 1991 to be Sega's mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog blasted into the video gaming spotlight with his blazing speeds and hip personality. Dr Ivo Robotnik has stolen the Chaos Emeralds you control Sonic to get them back while freeing his animal friends along the way. Is it worth going back to what made Sonic a gaming icon?

  • S2015E04 Sonic The Hedgehog 2 review

    • April 17, 2015

Developed by Sega Technical Institute and Sonic Team in 1992, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 had its work cut out by Sega. The first game exploded into the gaming crowd but this set Sonic (along with Tails) in the history books of gaming with unspeakable speeds, fluent gameplay and colourful graphics..

  • S2015E05 AtGames Mega Drive review

    • May 20, 2015

Console: AtGames Sega Mega Drive Classic Game Console This is a disappointing attempt by AtGames to recreate the memories of the classic Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. It has some promise but with harsh sound quality and reliability issues, it's an aftermarket console remake not worth owning.

  • S2015E06 MadWorld review

    • June 13, 2015

Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the underselling but amazing ‘MadWorld’, a stylised 3D beat-em-up with high impact but cartoonish brutality only on a Nintendo console. You’re in Varrigan City which is transformed into a reality TV show called ‘Death-Watch’ and you play as a contestant who has other ideas. With its over-the-top violence, fun controls and humorous atmosphere, this overlooked title is certainly in the Top 20 of best Nintendo Wii games. I was originally going to present and conclude myself as a game show host, but my attempt at an American accent was so disastrous, it had to be cut. But I’m still able to say everything I want about this game and that’s the most important thing. Let the games begin…

  • S2015E07 Rogue Warrior review

    • June 27, 2015

Possibly the worst game Bethesda had any involvement with, Rogue Warrior (‘not’ based off the biography) is an offensive, glitchy, boring and repetitive first-person shooter about Richard Marcinko disrupting missiles during the Cold War on his own. Fact, stay away from this game.

  • S2015E08 Daytona USA review

    • July 7, 2015

Quite possibly the most popular arcade racer ever made, Daytona USA is a fun, fluent racer you can’t avoid even if you tried. Tell me you’ve never seen a Daytona USA arcade before. This version has HD graphics with new features that aren’t on previous consoles or arcade machines and you’ll be playing this for a long time.

  • S2015E09 Donkey Kong Country Review

    • July 19, 2015

To celebrate the upcoming release of 'Rare Replay' for the Xbox One, let’s take a look at the game that brought Rare into the superstars of game developers. Donkey Kong went to his cave to find there’s no bananas inside; they were stolen. It is now up to the 2 DKs to get revenge and find those bananas. Using SGI graphics to create 3D models, this move convinced Nintendo to purchase a 49% stake in Rare and this game was like no other on the Super Nintendo at the time. This began a new franchise and one of Nintendo’s signature mascots to this day.

  • S2015E10 Nintendo 64 review

    • August 16, 2015

This was Nintendo’s answer to the juggernaut of the PlayStation in the 90s and there so many things about it that were similar but different too. Its reliance on first-party games and cartridges made it stand out from other consoles on the market and produced a good amount of high-quality games, if you’re collecting games, why wouldn’t you have this in your collection?

  • S2015E11 Tourist Trophy review

    • October 1, 2015

This is a perfect case of a big developer going 'Hmm, let's not do cars this time, let's try another vehicle,' and this is what we got. It uses the same game engine and graphics as Gran Turismo 4 but it somehow still works. Despite the poor sales, the demand for a sequel still exists and I concur because this is a fun motorbike racer that has the potential to rank up there with the Gran Turismo franchise...

  • S2015E12 N, The Way of the Ninja mini-review

    • October 14, 2015

A small, fun little platformer about a ninja trying to stay alive collecting boxes of liquid gold and going from room to room, therefore becoming the ninja master who... went through 100 rooms.

  • S2015E13 [OLD] Mass Effect review

    • November 27, 2015

The beginning to one of the greatest video game trilogies, Mass Effect is a Shooter/RPG hybrid with an excellent story, mass replay value, and solid gameplay, even if it means being on elevator for half a minute...

  • S2015E14 Aliens vs Predator (2010) review

    • December 3, 2015

One of the many combinings 2 of the most popular sci-fi action horror franchises, Aliens vs Predator puts you in the minds of a marine, xenomorph and predator in the one game which makes it a decent moderate-variety movie tie-in crossover.

  • S2015E15 Metroid Prime review

    • December 11, 2015

Retro Studios going through the depths of hell trying to develop this game, somehow, someway it became one of the greatest games of all time. Samus Aran is on the planet Tallon IV and is exploring alone to find anythign about the fazeon and 'The Worm'. This is a must-play no matter what type of gamer you are!

  • S2015E16 Sega Mega Drive 6-in-1 Plug-and-Play mini review

    • December 15, 2015

The sort of thing you would find hiding in a draw under the TV, this plug-and-play system plays 6 Sega Mega Drive games in 1. Although you can't use cartridges and the stereo sound comes out from one side, it's not as bad as the usual plug-and-play garbage that exists...

Season 2016

  • S2016E01 Wolfenstein: The New Order review

    • January 4, 2016

Set after the events of the 2009 Wolfenstein title, BJ Blatzowicz attempts to end it all in 1948 but was accidentally sent into a coma for 14 years and wakes up to see the Nazis win WWII. It still doesn't stop Blatzo as he grows a resistance to take back the world. Great story but not-so-special gameplay, this is one of the earlier 8th generation games worth trying out if you're an FPS or Wolfenstein fan...

  • S2016E02 [OLD] Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec review

    • January 12, 2016

Balancing simulation and fun perfectly with its solid driving mechanics and deep simulation mode, this entry into the Gran Turismo series is perfect example of what the PlayStation 2 could do early in its life cycle...

  • S2016E03 Sony PlayStation review

    • January 28, 2016

After the humiliating betrayal by Nintendo in the SNES-CD add-on debacle, Sony wouldn't have it and wanted to beat Nintendo at their own game by revolutionising the video game industry with the PlayStation. With over 100 million units sold making it the best-selling CD-based console, revenge is a disc best served cold...

  • S2016E04 Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection review

    • February 1, 2016

Also known as Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection in North America, with 40 Mega Drive (Genesis) games, 2 Master System and 7 arcade titles in one whole collection, this Sega compilation is one of the best gaming collections out there whether it would be for Mega Drive first timers or fanboys returning to the glory days...

  • S2016E05 Alex Kidd in Miracle World review

    • February 6, 2016

Considered one of best games on the Master System, 7 year old Alex Kidd finds his home planet taken over by Janken the great. Alex must use his paper, scissors, rock skills and punching strength to take back the planet and destroy Janken and his minions. Expect this to be a controversial review and more dislike of the video than likes...

  • S2016E06 Army Men: Team Assault review

    • February 10, 2016

With hardly any upside to this shooter based on classic toys, Army Men Team Assault is the perfect case in point of the nosedive in quality for the Army Men video game series, does anyone remember them?

  • S2016E07 [OLD] Mass Effect 2 review

    • February 21, 2016

Commander Shepard dies but continues unfinished business after being revived by Cerberus. Collectors who have teamed up with the Reapers are abducting human colones and Shepard must develop a crew to stop them. With improved gameplay, a dark and incredible story, enough great characters to make a top 10 for combined with the fact that Bioware took in user feedback, this sci-fi RPG shooter is one of the best video games of the 7th generation...

  • S2016E08 Dynamite Headdy review

    • February 26, 2016

An evil forces overshadows a play, the town is taken over by the Dark Demon and Headdy has to stop him. With its system-pushing graphics, original art direction, and solid gameplay, Dynamite Headdy is another Mega Drive title worth checking out...

  • S2016E09 Mass Effect 3 review

    • March 14, 2016

Commander Shepard face toughest challenge of his or her life, to stop a galactic juggernaut known as the reapers who are wiping out organic life for harvest. With a larger-than-life scope, character interactivity, solid gameplay, this is the epic conclusion to one of the greatest video gaming trilogies of all time... despite the controversial ending...

  • S2016E10 5 Most Controversial Formula One Races

    • March 21, 2016

The Formula One season has just begun so don’t be surprised to witness any controversies, I know this as I witnessed Danny Riccardo make the podium in the 2014 Australian Grand Prix in person, only to be disqualified the next day because his car exceeded the fuel flow rate limit which I’m still gritting my teeth over! Seriously, controversy in Formula One is more common than brushing your teeth. However, there are some races that make the news outside of sport. This is ColourShed’s 5 Most Controversial Formula One Races… warning, contains mature content…

  • S2016E11 Vectorman review

    • March 28, 2016

The Earth is broken down by global warming and humanity evacuates for another planet while robots clean up, one of them attaches itself to a nuclear bomb and creates a death trap for returning human. It is up to Vectorman to take Warhead down and literally save the planet. This uses pre-rendered graphics and the run-and-gun style of Contra & fast platforming style of Sonic, get ready for a wildly green ride...
