Jeremy Clarkson travels around Italy to find the perfect super-car.
Highlights from the series hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, including clips from interviews with William Hague, Status Quo, Jenson Button and Jamie Oliver. Other memorable moments include the lambasting of John Prescott, and some explosive action in the Clarkson kitchen.
The video is centred around Clarkson's pursuit for the "greatest car in the world... ever", beginning with the Jaguar E-Type. From there he has a look at some superminis, hot hatchbacks, sports cars and supercars, in addition to some further motorsport action and a brief detour on to the worst cars ever made.
After introducing the video by showing off a variety of professional sports which its athletes make seem easy, including a Group B Audi Quattro being driven competitively by a rally driver of the era, he heads to Mallory Park with a selection of sports cars, beginning with the Porsche 911.
A Jaguar XJR15, Lamborghini Diablo SE, Bugatti EB110, McLaren F1, Jaguar XJ220, Ford GT40 and Ferrari F40 are lined up on an airfield as Clarkson announces that this video is "going to be the best hour of automotive fun you've ever had".
Which is faster round a racetrack - a Porsche 911 or the Yamaha R1? Would you rather have a Ferrari 360 Modena or the new Aston Martin DB7 Vantage? Which is the best road-going rocketship - the BMW M5 with Tiff Needell at the wheel or JC’s Jaguar XJR? Which of the new Japanese super tech cars is best? the Evo6 or the 22b? PLUS grimace as JC shows a Hyundai what it’s like to be eaten, marvel at the Lamborghini LM002 as it wreaks havoc on London’s traffic and check out the greatest race Silverstone has ever seen - Johnny Herbert in his Stewart Ford and Colin McRae in his full rally spec Focus...versus JC in a Cougar.
Clarkson driving some supercars around a track and destroying a "bad" one, this time around a badly-modified Ford Sierra GL, which he disposes of by dumping various household objects from a height onto the roof and bonnet of the car, before shooting it from a car cannon at the top of a quarry.
Clarkson driving some supercars around a track and destroying a "bad" one, this time around a Morris Marina, which he disposes of by hooking up to a crane and knocking down a few other despised cars in a giant game of Bar Skittles.
Among the various cars Clarkson drives is a Ford RS200 Evolution, which he unintentionally damages by oversteering into a grassy verge, knocking off a bumper. He also compares the stopping distances between a vintage Ford Anglia and a comparatively more modern Ford Focus, with a Range Rover that is also used to pull down a speed camera.
2003 has been the best year for new cars ever. In this new DVD I put the best of the best to the test. But I'm not interested in reliability, fuel consumption or even cup holders. This is all about finding the car of the year that put the biggest smile on my face.....It's all about excitement...
Three cars are the recipient of Clarkson's punishment, each are used as a target for "clay" shooting; an Austin Metro is shot at with a shotgun, a Nissan Bluebird is shot at with a machine gun, and a Ford Scorpio is blown up with an RPG.
Jeremy puts his hands on a "collection" of cars/supercars finding out which one deserves to go to heaven an which to hell (of course, the ones who go to hell get a proper punishment).
Taking place in the arid deserts of America, where he embarks on a quest to find a "decent" car made by the country. He tests many sports, muscle and supercars before turning his ire towards some cars he hates, including a Toyota Prius which is shot at by an angry redneck and a pair of Buick Park Avenues which are torn apart by two teams; one representing the UK and the other representing the USA.
Clarkson takes us on a tour to find the ultimate European Supercar. Will it be the Ferrari 599 GTB, Audi's R8, the Porsche GT3 or Aston Martin's Vantage V8 or something from Bugatti? He also finds time to trash a Renault Alpine and a G-Wiz.
Including an appearance from The Stig. Notable segments including Clarkson using side-mounted fireworks on a Porsche 944 to blow up an AEC Routemaster and Mitsubishi Shogun, and a Viking tank which blows up a Lexus LS400.
Which car makes the most smoke whilst going sideways, between a Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce or a Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S, which is best at drifting; the Jaguar XKR, the Lotus Evora, Audi's R8 V10 or BMW's M3, and can The Stig, who makes another cameo appearance, take on a variety of tasks that challenge his immense driving prowess?
Vehicles driven include the Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, Nissan GT-R and some reimaginations of past classics, such as the Eagle Speedster, Jensen Interceptor R, and the German "Brutus", based on an American firetruck.
