Eleanor McEvoy, Finbar Furey, Cara Dillon, Luka Bloom, Brian Kennedy and many others sing the songs that Ireland is famous for. Love songs, songs of emigration, songs of loss, contemporary and traditional are all beautifully accompanied by the house band, top Irish-American group Solas.
Ricky Ross presents performances from a special concert staged at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow, bringing some of the best music from Celtic Connections 2013. This is the twentieth Celtic Connections festival and this programme features the broad range of musical styles, from world music to Americana, traditional Scottish styles to blues and jazz, that has made the festival itself such a success since the first was staged in 1994. Acts featured include Martha Wainwright, Blazin Fiddles, India Alba and Heidi Talbot.

Julie Fowlis presents a unique music event and one of the highlights of Celtic Connections 2018. Taking its inspiration from the groundbreaking Martyn Bennett album Bothy Culture, Bothy Culture and Beyond is a musical and visual spectacular combining some of the finest musicians in the country alongside performers such as the internationally renowned street trials rider Danny MacAskill. The concert is performed by the groundbreaking GRIT Orchestra, originally created by musician, arranger and conductor Greg Lawson to perform Martyn Bennett's GRIT album at Celtic Connections in 2015. Following GRIT's huge success, this year's Bothy Culture and Beyond event sees the world premiere of Greg Lawson's arrangements of Martyn Bennett's second album, Bothy Culture. Alongside this unique musical performance, the show features a special appearance by Scottish stunt rider Danny MacAskill, inspired by his 2014 film The Ridge, which follows his death-defying, world-first traverse of the Black Cuillin Ridge on his native Skye, soundtracked by Bennett's inspirational track 'Blackbird'. Also featured during the performance will be beautiful aerial dances from Scotland's leading aerial dance company, All or Nothing.
Filmed exclusively at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow, innovative Skye band Niteworks supported the Grit Orchestra at the landmark Bothy Culture and Beyond concert, the biggest event of Celtic Connections 2018. The band bring together Gaelic language and traditional music with electronic influences, it’s high energy set that got the crowd dancing at the Hydro, along with special guest vocalists, it’s a memorable performance from a truly memorable night.
