Season 1

Charlie MacFell, son of a wealthy farmer, is entangled in a series of events after witnessing his father's murder by a farmhand. He helps the killer escape, but another farmhand, Ginger Slater, witnesses the crime and later blackmails Charlie. Charlie is then forced into a marriage with Victoria Chapman, a woman who is also romantically involved with his sister Nellie. As the series progresses, Charlie seeks redemption by joining the army and fighting in World War I, facing both the enemy and his own internal demons.
