As of September 2018, the national debt of the United States surpassed 21,4 trillion USD, while the budget deficit is at its highest number since 2012. And, even though there are a lot of unwarranted claims and misconceptions pinned to this topic, many are concerned that the national debt is reaching unsustainable levels.
