Felicity brings Sarah to visit Jennifer at her new office, and tells Jennifer she believes Sarah's on the point of deciding to return home. Thanks to Mrs Redman, Tommy is able to steal a march over his political rival, Major Dolman, and wins pre-selection for Edgar Swann's former seat. Robert and Margery reveal what seem like irreconcilable differences. Robert leaves home and checks into a private hotel.
