On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged us to find three cheap exotics that are better than a new C8 Corvette. We bought a pimped-out Ferrari 360, Aston Martin V12 Vantage S, and a gated manual Lamborghini Gallardo that may have been underwater at some point in its life. Then we found out what's wrong with them. Oh boy...
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to fix their aging exotic cars themselves. While Tavarish is a human wrench, Tyler and Ed aren't so inclined. The Ferrari 360 needs some serious un-pimping, the Lamborghini Gallardo is a total basket case that can't take any fuel without spilling it, and the Aston Martin is full of surprises. This is going to be fun. Fingers crossed.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to drive their bargain exotic cars 200 miles on a single tank of fuel, with no highways. It was supposed to be a relaxing country drive, but the guys couldn't follow directions and got themselves involved in some good old fashioned motorsport. These cars may be cheaper than a C8 Corvette, but will they survive? SEND IT!
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to test their used exotic cars' power levels in a dyno test. Tyler's Ferrari 360 may have the least amount of power, but he has a secret that may give him the edge. Freddy's Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is the big dog power-wise, but that also means it has the most power to lose, and Ed's Lamborghini Gallardo is on its last legs. These cars may be cheaper than a C8 Corvette, but will they survive these runs?
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to see if their "cheap" exotic car purchases are actually any good, by getting a trade-in appraisal at Mclaren Palm Beach. CarMax ain't got nothing on this! Tyler's Ferrari 360 is just as rough as ever, Freddy's Aston Martin V12 Vantage shows its questionable build quality, and Ed's Lamborghini Gallardo has its "custom" diffuser tape on full display. Afterwards, they are challenged to do a bit of local sightseeing, and things don't exactly go as planned. Oh boy...
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to get to Amelia Island, a 300+ mile trip, with a twist. They had some precious cargo, and they had to time their stops. A real cannonball! Tyler's Ferrari 360 is feeling the strain of the previous challenges, Freddy's Aston Martin V12 Vantage is questionable at best, and Ed's Lamborghini Gallardo is the wild card. Will they make it?
In the SERIES FINALE of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to have their cheap and dirty exotic cars judged at the super fancy Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance, and this one is for ALL THE MARBLES. Tyler's Ferrari 360 needs some serious TLC, Freddy's Aston Martin V12 Vantage isn't anywhere near Concours-ready, and Ed's Lamborghini Gallardo is more submarine than car. Winner gets to keep his car. The others have to list them for sale. This is it.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged us to find three of the world's cheapest, most depreciated supercars and meet up in Las Vegas for a series of challenges. Freddy chose a derelict Maserati Coupe GT "Trofeo Tribute" car, Ed brought an ex-cartel Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, and Tyler showed up in a Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG that was clearly NOT a supercar. But then we found out what was wrong with them...
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged us to test our cheap supercars on an actual race track, and things take a turn almost immediately. Tyler's CL65 AMG reveals what "German reliability" really means, Ed's Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is hanging on by a thread, leaving Freddy's Maserati to defend the honor of cheap hoopties everywhere. No pressure.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to see how much their aging supercar hoopties would be worth as rentals on the Las Vegas strip, but Freddy's Maserati was a little under the weather. Tyler's CL65 AMG and Ed's Aston Martin V12 Vanquish were still going strong, although the opinion of Houston Crosta from Royalty Exotic Cars could definitely take the wind out of their sails.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to test their cars on a dry lake bed. The only problem is that it's 130 degrees outside and these cars weren't meant for that kind of climate when they were new. Ed's Aston Martin V12 Vanquish is barely a 4-banger at this point, Tyler's CL65 AMG breaks in a new and hilarious way, but Freddy's Maserati has been reborn in the form of a 2007 BMW M6, graciously negotiated by Ed. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to test out each other's cars and tally up everything wrong with them. Ed's Aston Martin V12 Vanquish needs more pre-flight checks than the space shuttle, Tyler's CL65AMG is perfect except for some very unusual issues, and Freddy has TOTALLY REDEEMED HIMSELF and brought the Maserati back to life. Unfortunately it's still as rough around the edges as it was. Then the guys get their cars appraised by John Ficarra, an experience none of them will ever forget...or want to remember.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged us to find three of the world's cheapest and most unreliable luxury cars, to gift to each other. Unfortunately, Ed's reading comprehension skills took a vacation the day he got the text, so it may have been read slightly wrong...
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to find out how broken their cars actually are, but there's a twist this time. Ed's Maserati, named "Mona," stole his heart but may still have eyes for his bank account. Tyler's Audi S8 has the Quattro pedigree, but it's far from a track-prepped race car. Freddy's Rolls-Royce is as solid as a tank but leaks like a submarine with a screen door. This is going to get a little sketchy.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to race the fastest man on Earth. Ed's Maserati needed a major repair after his minor tree contact, Freddy's Rolls-Royce was experiencing some slight mineral oil leakage that turned into a little more than slight, and Tyler's Audi S8 would have an unforgettable encounter with the Grinch.
On today's episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenged the guys to get their cars appraised for the highest price possible, which was a little more difficult than it seemed. Ed's Maserati Quattroporte was suffering from a bad case of tree-in-grille disease, Tyler's Audi S8 was permanently stanced, and Freddy's Rolls-Royce was patient zero with a steering wheel. It would take a miracle for them to get their cars appraised. Thankfully, it was Christmas.
On the final episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest's challenge was to deliver Christmas presents a few hundred miles away to the oldest Baptist church in St. Louis. Tyler's Audi S8 was completely bottomed out, leaking oil and various fluids, and was in no shape to compete. Freddy's Rolls-Royce needed some serious mold removal and some mineral oil, but Ed's Maserati may have just been the Christmas miracle they all needed.

On the first episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest tasks the guys with finding three cheap Ferraris for the price of a Toyota Camry. Freddy, predictably bought a 1978 Ferrari 308 GTB that needs a "little bit of work," Tyler bought a 1994 Ferrari 456GT, also known as the world's most expensive Ford Probe, and Ed bought a 2009 Ferrari 599 GTB with the HGTE handling package. If you're wondering how that last one makes sense, so does everyone else. They were then told to see what was wrong with their aging prancing horses. Hold on to your butts. This one is gonna be fun.
On this episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenges the guys to see how fast (or slow) their cheap Ferraris actually are, by taking them to MotorSports Ranch and timing their laps. Ed's Ferrari 599 is the ringer, even though heatsoak and mechanical issues could happen at any moment. Tyler's Ferrari 456GT is surprisingly agile and quick, despite being the world's most expensive Ford Probe, and Freddy's Ferrari 308 continues to be a breathing hazard. Get your helmets ready, this one is gonna be fun.
On this episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenges the guys to drive their cheap Ferraris 1,000 miles to Gateway, Colorado, to a road that some say is the greatest in America. Ed's Ferrari 599 is made for this, although its watery past may give it some pause. Tyler's Ferrari 456GT is a La-Z-Boy with a prancing horse badge, but Freddy's Ferrari 308 GTB is hanging on by a thread. This may take longer than expected.
On this episode of Car Trek, AutoTempest challenges the guys to drive their cheap Ferraris 1,000 miles to Gateway, Colorado, to a road that some say is the greatest in America. However, since Freddy's Ferrari 308 slowed the convoy down in the previous episode, a last-minute challenge was issued. The guys would have to re-enact one of their favorite Ferrari-centric movie scenes using their cars. Ed's Ferrari 599 is perfect for the thrilling Bad Boys II bridge chase scene, Tyler's inner connoisseur comes out in his Gone In 60 Seconds scene, but Freddy's scene may take the crown for being the cringiest thing on Car Trek. You have been warned.
On this episode of Car Trek, the guys are in the home stretch to complete AutoTempest's biggest challenge yet - to drive their cheap and broken Ferraris 1,000 miles to Gateway, Colorado, the home of the greatest driving road in America. However, before then, they have to first find out what their cars are worth. Ed's Ferrari 599 is getting more rattly by the mile and it has the most to lose. Tyler's Ferrari 456GT is a little worse for wear after its challenges, but its low mileage and rarity may give it some extra credit in the appraisal. And Freddy's Ferrari 308 GTB is so insanely broken that any valuation that doesn't include a tow to a junkyard would be a miracle. A fitting end to the series.
On the first episode of Car Trek Series 5, the guys get a taste of the good life by taking a joyride in the mother of all dream cars - the irreplaceable and jaw-droppingly gorgeous McLaren F1. They they get the keys to their own personal dream cars and find out if they're impressive enough for the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Ed brings his Lamborghini Murcielago LP640, Tyler has an AMG SLS, complete with gullwing doors, and Freddy rolls up in an Aston Martin DBS, in full James Bond spec. Some feelings may be hurt on this one...
In this episode of Car Trek Series 5, AutoTempest challenges the guys to find out how fast their cars can go on a mile long runway, that regularly sees jets achieve 150mph. Ed's Lamborghini LP640 is technically the right car for the job, but it's not exactly firing on all cylinders. Tyler's SLS AMG has the least cylinders, but has the most technology. And Freddy's Aston Martin DBS is more burnout machine than track star, so it's anyone's race.
In this episode of Car Trek Series 5, AutoTempest challenges the guys to find spitting images of their first cars for a $3000 budget. Freddy finds a Nissan Maxima that's more furious than fast, Ed snags a Audi S4 that doubles as an ant farm, and Tyler brings a Mercedes-Benz 300TD, a car that was famous for getting to 60 mph in nearly 20 seconds. Then the guys are challenged to perform as an iconic YouTuber, and things get a bit cringey. Apologies in advance to ChrisFix, Doug Demuro, and Engineering Explained.
In this episode of Car Trek Series 5, AutoTempest challenges the guys to get their first cars to Atlanta Motorsports Park for a race. Not against each other, but to see who can outrun the local police. Ed's Audi S4 has the most to lose, but its stage 2 mods make it seriously quick. Freddy's Nissan Maxima isn't doing itself any favors, bringing razor thin tires with heavy wheels to a technical course, and Tyler's Mercedes-Benz 300TD will need a miracle to get out of its own way.
In this episode of Car Trek Series 5, AutoTempest challenges the guys to drive each others' dream cars. Simple, isn't it? Well, Ed's drive in the Aston Martin DBS brings back some less than favorable memories, Tyler ponders whether a manual Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 really is worth $200,000 more than an automatic one, and Freddy has some very choice words for the SLS AMG. There may be a fist fight involved.
On the first episode of Car Trek Series 6, AutoTempest challenges the guys to buy three cars each, for less than $30,000, to make their ultimate dream $30k garage. It must have a sports car, a luxury sedan, and a capable off roader, and they should represent the guys' favorite country of manufacture. Tyler immediately went America all over everyone, with a 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6, Ed bought a questionably maintained 1999 Porsche 911 from Germany, and Freddy's Japanese car roots led him to none other than a 1995 Toyota Supra. The guys were then given challenges to see how much power they actually made, and if that power could be put down to the ground. Hold on to your butts.
In the second episode of Car Trek series 6, AutoTempest challenges the guys to drive to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit, an extremely technical track in Oklahoma. The first challenge is to get the most lateral G-forces without spinning. Ed's Porsche 996 is in no shape for under or oversteer, but maybe his racing pedigree can save him. Freddy's Toyota Supra has the power it needs, but turbo lag makes it a bit hairy in the handling department. And Tyler's Pontiac Trans Am WS6 is all over the place, as usual. They are then challenged to race their old Car Trek cars, including the Maserati Coupe GT, Ferrari 456, Ferrari 360, and Nissan Maxima. Strap in. This is going to get bumpy.
In the third episode of Car Trek series 6, AutoTempest takes a backseat to a new sponsor, Ticket Clinic, who instructs the guys to buy three cheap luxury cars. Ed, unsurprisingly shows up in a clapped-out yet extremely clean Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG. Freddy brings his million-mile Lexus LS400 that he bought from The Smoking Tire's Matt Farah for one dollar, and Tyler brings down the house (and the budget) with a 2013 Tesla Model S P85. They then have to find out what's wrong with them by subjecting them to an inspection by the Car Wizard.
In the fourth episode of Car Trek series 6, the guys leave the cornfields of Kansas and head out to summit America's most famous mountain road, Pikes Peak. But along the way, a few things happen. Ed's Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG is just as broken as it started out, Freddy's Lexus LS400 develops a common yet annoying fault, but Tyler's Tesla Model S P85 completely gives up, despite having every indication of being charged. Elon Musk may want to skip this video.
In the fifth episode of Car Trek series 6, AutoTempest challenges the guys to buy off-road trucks as their last set of vehicles for their Ultimate $30,000 dream garage. And before someone asks, no - no one got a 2022 Ford Bronco. Tyler goes old school and brings a Jeep Wrangler with a weather Jurassic Park livery, Freddy brings a bone-stock Mitsubishi Montero Limited, complete with highway tires, and Ed's Porsche Cayenne has both the looks and mods to make it a serious off-roader. In theory.
In the sixth and final episode of Car Trek series 6, AutoTempest challenges the guys to get to a point on a map with no roads surrounding it. Simple, yet quite challenging for anything not made for off-roading. Tyler's Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler is like a billy goat that can go over anything, Ed's Porsche Cayenne was built for some serious terrain, but Freddy's Mitsubishi Montero, with its highway tires and spare isn't fit for...anything. Or is it?
On the first episode of Car Trek Series 7, AutoTempest challenges the guys to find the best imported cars they could get their hands on. Since they'd have to be at least 25 years old to qualify for importation, the guys would have to choose cars from the greatest decade - the '90s. Tyler brought a heavily modified BMW E30 325i hot rod from Lebanon, Freddy lets his JDM freak flag fly with an inappropriate Mazda RX-7, and Ed outdoes himself and shows up in the most offensive TVR Cerbera ever made. They are then told to meet at the Freedom Factory for a race. Hell yeah, brother.
In the second episode of Car Trek Series 7, Ticket Clinic challenges the guys to recreate some of their favorite American action movie tropes on a mile-long runway. Afterwards, they'd have to see how illegal their gray market imported sports car actually are. Get to the choppa!
In the third and final episode of Car Trek Series 7, AutoTempest challenges the guys to find out what is actually wrong with their cars with an inspection from the Car Wizard. Then they are taken to Radwood, where they enter their cars in a silent auction. The highest bid wins.
On the first episode of Car Trek Series 8, AutoTempest challenges the guys to find three of the burliest, most obnoxious gas guzzlers they can buy, for less than the price of America's favorite electric vehicle, the Tesla Model 3. Freddy brings out his inner boomer with a Chevy Corvette Z06, Tyler's childhood fantasies come to life with a Dodge Viper SRT-10, and Ed's cheap Bugatti Veyron dreams are realized with a Bentley Continental Supersports. They are then tasked with racing around Atlanta Motor Speedway, which is a bit scarier than it sounds.
On the 1st episode of Car Trek 9, AutoTempest challenges the guys to find 3 of the best rebuilt exotic cars for less money than a new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 costs. Tyler gets flashy and brings a Ferrari 458 Spider that's missing a few things, Ed chooses a nearly perfect Audi R8 V10+ & tries not to fall asleep, & Freddy brings his SEMA show car McLaren 675LT, which may end up being too expensive and too fast for these challenges. They are then shown to Car Wizard for inspection before proving themselves on a real, actual track.
