Lehi has a vision of the Savior and of Jerusalem being destroyed. He warns the people to repent. Lehi; his wife, Sariah; and their sons leave and travel into the wilderness. Nephi believes his father.
Lehi dreams of scriptures written on brass plates. Lehi and Sariah’s sons—Laman, Lemuel, Sam, and Nephi—go back to Jerusalem. Laman tries to trade gold and silver for the plates and fails.
Nephi returns to Jerusalem to get the brass plates. He follows the Spirit, finds Laban drunk, and kills him. He wears Laban’s clothes and instructs Zoram. They return and read the scriptures.
Sariah is the mother of Nephi and his brothers. She left Jerusalem and traveled in the wilderness. She is scared but trusts the Lord and her husband, the prophet Lehi. Sariah is comforted.
To raise children in the promised land, Nephi and his brothers go back to Jerusalem to bring Ishmael and his family with Lehi and Sariah. The brothers tie up Nephi. Ishmael's daughter defends Nephi.
Lehi dreams he is in a dark, empty place and prays to the Lord. He is led to the tree of life. He eats its fruit and is filled with joy. He sees others holding an iron rod on a path to the tree.
The families of Lehi and Ishmael spend years in the wilderness. The Liahona, a brass ball, guides them. It shows Nephi where to hunt after his bow breaks, so the family does not starve. They repent.
The daughters of Ishmael marry Lehi's sons. They have babies in the wilderness, as does Sariah. They are sad when Ishmael dies. They hear God's voice, repent, and rejoice in the land Bountiful.
Nephi prays in the mountains of Bountiful, a land of fruits and honey. He makes metal tools to build a ship to cross the sea. Laman and Lemuel want to kill Nephi but are shaken by the Lord’s power.
Lehi’s family packs food and sails on a ship to the promised land. After days at sea, many are rude. The Liahona stops working. Laman and Lemuel tie Nephi up. They repent and do not sink.
Lehi gives blessings to his children in the promised land before he dies. Laman and Lemuel plan to kill Nephi. The Nephites leave. They go to a new place to farm, build temples, and be happy.
A Nephite prophet Jacob likens scattered Israel to a vineyard with olive trees, branches, and fruit. Branches are removed from a dying tree and grafted to healthy trees and saved.
The prophet Jacob teaches faith in Jesus Christ. Sherem is good at speaking. He wants the Nephites to stop believing. Sherem asks for a sign as proof but was tricked by Satan and dies.
Jacob gives his son Enos the plates. Enos goes hunting in the forest and thinks of the joy of the Lord. He prays day and night. Enos’s sins are forgiven because of his faith in Jesus Christ.
After wars, Mosiah follows the Lord and leads his people to live in Zarahemla. He brings the brass plates and is made king. Zeniff leads some back to the land of Nephi. The Lamanites attack them.
King Benjamin rules Zarahemla in peaceful times. He teaches the people to believe in Jesus Christ, forgive, repent, and keep the commandments. His son Mosiah will serve as the new king.
King Noah ruled over the Nephites living in the land of Nephi. Noah made his people give him lots of money and then spent it on nice things for himself. He called priests who were prideful to help him rule. Noah did not keep God’s commandments.
Alma used to be a priest for a king named Noah. Alma tried to save Abinadi, a prophet of God, from being killed by Noah. But Noah got angry with Alma and wanted to kill Alma too. Alma ran away from Noah to stay safe.
Bad King Noah escapes from Gideon when a Lamanite army is attacking. Nephite daughters plead for their families. Lamanites let them live. Limhi and Ammon pray to God and lead Nephites to Zarahemla.
Alma and his people lived in a beautiful land. They planted seeds and built homes. Alma was a priest of God. He taught his people to love each other. The people listened to Alma and kept God’s commandments. Their families grew, and they built a city.
Alma the Younger and the sons of Mosiah do not believe and go against God to destroy the Church. An angel appears, and Alma feels pain for doing wrong. Alma is forgiven by Jesus and is happy.
Nehor feels he is better than others. He starts his own church for praise and money. Gideon says he does not teach the truth. Nehor kills him. Nehor is put to death, but his false teachings spread.
Alma and Amulek taught the gospel in the city Ammonihah. Some people believed in the Lord and repented. But many other people were mad at Alma and Amulek and wanted to destroy them.
Ammon and his brothers wanted to teach the Lamanites about the Lord. They went to the land where the Lamanites lived. On their way, they fasted and prayed to ask the Lord for help.
The Lamanite queen trusts the prophet Ammon that God will wake her husband, King Lamoni, back to life. Servants say the king is dead. He wakes and testifies of Jesus. The queen is full of joy.
King Lamoni’s father is angry and attacks Ammon. Later, Lamoni’s father lets Ammon's brothers go free. One of them, Aaron, teaches the king. The king lets them teach the gospel throughout the kingdom.
Many Lamanites learned about God from Ammon and his brothers. These Lamanites had strong faith in the Lord and followed God’s commandments. They wanted a new name, so they called themselves Anti-Nephi-Lehies instead of Lamanites.
A man named Korihor came to the land of Zarahemla. He told people that God and Jesus Christ are not real.
Alma and Amulek teach Zoramite poor. Their leaders are mean, care about money, don’t keep the commandments and say Jesus is not real. Alma says God hears prayers.
Zerahemnah leads Lamanites to fight and rule over Nephites. Captain Moroni’s army has armor and prays to protect their families and faith. They battle and beat Zerahemnah in Manti. He promises peace.
Amalickiah was a big, strong Nephite. He wanted to be king. He promised to give power to the people who helped him. Many people liked him and tried to make others follow him. Amalickiah led people to do bad things.
A maidservant worked for a Nephite leader named Morianton.
Teancum is a Nephite leader. His armies fight Amalickiah and the Lamanites. Teancum sneaks into Amalickiah’s tent and kills him. The Lamanites run away. Teancum protects the people. Cities are safe.
The Anti-Nephi-Lehies covenanted to never fight. Their young sons did not, and chose to fight for freedom. Their mothers taught them to keep the commandments.

Captain Moroni fights the Lamanites. His letter to Pahoran says there is not enough food or soldiers. Pahoran tells Moroni they are also fighting the Kingmen.
Teancum and Moroni fight Ammoron’s army and are winning. Teancum climbs a city wall and kills Ammoron with a javelin. Servants kill Teancum, but war ends and there is peace for the Nephites.

Storms and earthquakes to the Americas are signs of Jesus's death. He speaks, and people listen. Heavenly Father’s voice declares His Son, and the Savior of the World appears. People worship Him.
Jesus chose twelve disciples. He gave them power to baptize and words to say as they are baptized under water and receive the Holy Ghost. He taught them to not argue, and God will take care of them.

Jesus healed the sick and blessed bread and wine, calling it the sacrament for those who believe in Him and are baptized. Jesus shed His blood and died for us. We remember to keep His commandments.
Jesus returned to the Father. He taught people to serve others and love God. His disciples wanted to live with Him. But three wanted to stay and help more people come to Jesus until the second coming.
In Babel, Jared and his brother pray their language will not change. God hears, leads them in the wilderness, and forgives them. Jesus appears and touches stones with his finger to light their barges.
Prophet Ether gave a warning to Coriantumr, the king of the Jaredites, to believe in God, have faith and do good. The king and people did not repent. Ether wrote of their battles and destruction.
Moroni is the last prophet of his people. They are wicked and want to kill others. He writes about charity, the pure love of Christ. He says to follow Jesus. He protects and buries the plates.
