The series stars Dane Clark and newcomer Joan Marshall. "Bold Venture" was originally written as an adventure series for Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, and was well-known as a radio serial. Much of the action in the series was actually filmed in various Caribbean locations, including Cuba, Jamaica, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, as well as the Central American republics bordering the Caribbean. In the syndicated adventure series "Bold Venture,” Joan plays helpmate to her guardian, a sailor called Slate Shannon (Dane Clark), who runs a joint, Shannon’s Place, in Trinidad. When Joan doesn't get her guardian in trouble, she's following him about as he beats up crooks or uncovers some Caribbean Intrigue.
