It also brought took him to different sonic landscapes all aided by producer Daniel Lanois and a make shift studio in New Orleans. There's some interesting interviews with both of them, detailing working on the album Jacques Levy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hs_NRbODKtM Scarlet Rivera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E24qy7J5_W0&t=…
On this episode we look at one of Bob's best albums in this later stage of his career, an album that feels strangely confident and striding but with a sense of age and death. It would be a highly controversial album too.

I think it's fair to say this is not a particularly loved album, we take a look at why that is and what goodness can be found.

On the 29th of July 1966 Bob Dylan was speeding through the backroads of Woodstock, New York on his T100 Triumph motorbike. In an instant he lost control, seconds later he crashed and found himself thrown onto the hard tarmac injuring himself badly. ……Or did he? This is how an icon retreated from the spotlight and delivered an album that set him free….
We'll spend the next few episodes looking at Bob's christian period, starting with Slow Train Coming.
In a slightly different episode to normal we look at Bob's origin story when it comes to religion.
