Ichigo and Hiyori face off, but Ichigo has a bit of trouble holding his own. Hiyori urges him to use his Bankai, but he refuses for the fear of the presence of his inner hollow taking over. Hiyori succeeds in drawing it out eventually, however, and Ichigo passes their test of strength to join the Vizard. The Vizard have Ichigo train endurance before teaching him how to subdue his inner hollow, but after acknowledging Ichigo's already advanced shinigami abilities Shinji takes the training into the next phase. The episode ends with Ichigo in his subconscious world facing off against his inner hollow.
Ichigo se bat contre Hiyori pour comprendre comment fonctionne la hollowfication et ainsi pouvoir la contrôler. Cependant, il refuse d'utiliser son bankai et est en grande difficulté face à Hiyori Sarugaki. Au cours du combat, Ichigo se transforme, se retourne violemment contre la jeune fille et l'étrangle : les autres Vizards détruisent le masque d'Ichigo et déclarent qu'ils vont l'aider mais que ça ne sera pas facile vu la puissance de son Hollow. Ichigo s'énerve car il trouve l'entraînement d'Hiyori inutile. Lassé, Shinji envoie Ichigo à l'intérieur de son âme pour affronter son Hollow, pendant qu’extérieurement, dans une autre dimension, Ichigo se transforme petit à petit en Hollow et commence un combat contre Lisa Yadomaru.
Ichigo e Hiyori si affrontano, ma Ichigo non sembra reggere il confronto. Hiyori lo esorta a usare il suo Bankai, ma Ichigo si rifiuta per paura che la presenza nel suo subconscio prenda il sopravvento.
Ichigo hofft, dass ihm die Vizards helfen können, den Hollow in ihm zu unterdrücken.
Ichigo visita a Shinji Hirako en la guarida de los Vizards para así aprender como controllar su Hollow interior. Intenta sacarle la respuesta a la fuerza pero aparece Sarugaki para interrumpir el combate.
一護は、自身の内なるホロウを制御する方法を求めてヴァイザードの隠れ家に平子を訪ねた。力ずくでその方法を聞き出そうとする一護と平子の戦いに、ひよ里が割って入り、一護の甘さを指摘する。
