    Celebrity guests Kevin Thornton and Evelyn Cusack join hosts Áine Lawlor and Ella McSweeney for the first episode of Big Week on the Farm, live from John Fagan’s farm in Westmeath. We’ll learn about the secret life of the cow and follow badgers in their natural habitat and there will be live link-ups with a fish farm in Donegal and a pig farm in Kerry. On the first night of the show, will we have live lambing on farmer John’s farm?

Expectations are running high, will we have a live lambing on John’s farm?

We’ll be shining a light on the secret life of the pig and two of our guests will go head-to-head in a chicken plucking challenge. We’ll have live link-ups with a beef farm in Galway and some busy bees on a tillage farm in Meath. But will John’s heavily pregnant ewes give birth while we’re on air?

We’ll get an insight into the secret life of the goat and we’ll learn all about life on Derravaragh Lake. We’ll have live link-ups with a chicken farm in Kildare and a remote hill farm in Mayo. It’s been a busy week on the farm so far, particularly in the labour ward! Will John be delivering a lamb live on air?

We’ll be talking all things poultry; visiting an unusual sheep farm in Kilkenny and a high-tech tillage enterprise in Carlow. It’s the last chance for live lambing in the series.
