This first episode tells the story of how the hundreds and hundreds of suggested sites were narrowed down to just seven. We meet the team who will be putting in place - and it's a tricky and red-tape laden process - the final art piece, as they travel around the country looking at what each of the potential sites has to offer. We also get a hint of the problems that are going to lie ahead with public and artist not necessarily seeing eye to eye.
In the second episode the people behind the seven chosen sites start to get their hands dirty in actually working out what it is that they want as their piece of art. They travel around the country and abroad looking at large scale art works to get an understanding of what art means and what their imagination can achieve. Some are inspired - St.Helens miners talking enthusiastically about about concepts of space and form. Some however are stuck in rut - the guy from the Beckton Alp doesn't seem to like anything that isn't 'traditional'.
