Andrea je po nehodě na invalidním vozíčku. Ve škole se vyšetřuje, kdo se vloupal do počítačové databáze a školník začne Steva vydírat. Cindy žárlí na Jimovu sekretářku. Brenda se schází s Rickem, zjistí, že Dylan se schází s Kelly a rozchází se s Rickem.
Dylan og Brenda's forhold er slut. Allerede to dage efter bruddet er Brenda fast sammen med sin sommerkæreste, Rick. Han bliver inviteret hjem til middag og gør et stort indtryk på Jim Walsh ved at vide meget om økonomi og skattelovgivning. Imens begynder Kelly og Dylan at se mere til hinanden, men Kelly vil stadig gerne undgå for meget offentlighed indtil videre. Men selvfølgelig sker det uundgåelige: De to nye par løber på hinanden. De følelsesmæssige problemer er dog for intet at regne mod det, der venter Steve, hvis hans computer-indbrudsforsøg bliver opdaget.

Ganz anders als Dylan versteht sich Brendas neuer Flirt Rick auf Anhieb mit ihrem Vater Jim. Doch als Brenda und Rick bei ihrem Date ausgerechnet Dylan und Kelly in die Arme laufen, flippt Brenda aus. Zu allem Überfluss erfährt Dylan auch noch, dass seine Noten im Einstufungstest nicht anerkannt werden.
Kelly and Dylan go on a date, as Brenda insists that Dylan is free to see whomever he wishes. Brenda explodes when she and Rick run into Kelly and Dylan at a restaurant. Kelly denies that she is a bimbo and Brenda responds, ""I was always told that if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck…."" Kelly believes that Dylan is on the rebound, so she pushes him away. Brenda breaks up with Rick because they have little in common beyond their initial attraction. After the SAT board denies his appeal, a frustrated Dylan decides to leave town. Steve provides assistance to the wheelchair-bound Andrea in the hopes of curtailing her investigation of the computer break-in. Cindy suspects that Jim's beautiful new secretary is attracted to him, and Jim finds himself fantasizing about the woman.
