Stand (Up) and Deliver

Brandon kandiduje do voleb na starostu ročníku a Kelly i Andrea chtějí vést jeho předvolební kampaň. Brandon si nakonec uvědomí, že není vhodným kandidátem a odstupuje. Brenda se v klubu seznámí se servírkou Sky a chce po jejím vzoru odejít ze školy a osamostatnit se. Když musí Sky na čas někam odjet, Brenda se nabídne, že jí bude hlídat byt a uvědomí si, že se ještě osamostatnit nechce.

Natürlich sind ihre Eltern dagegen und Brenda zieht kurzfristig aus und lernt, das das Leben ohne Schulabschluss keine so rosige Zukunft bereithält Brandon kämpft mit seiner Wahlkampforganisatorin Kelly um den Posten des Schülerpräsidenten. Die Wahl scheint so gut wie gewonnen, bis Brandon erkennt, dass ein gnadenlos promoteter Wahlkampf ohne jegliche Motive nicht unbedingt den besseren Präsidenten ins Amt hebt.

Andrea persuades Brandon to run for class president. Kelly seizes control of the campaign and encourages Brandon to capitalize on his looks and image. She even agrees to a date with David in exchange for his help producing a campaign video. Brandon decides that he isn't the best man for the job after talking with his bright and dedicated opponent. Brenda, feeling neglected by family and friends, begins hanging out at a coffeehouse. Sky, a performance artist, convinces Brenda to drop out of high school and get her GED so that she can "experience life." Brenda moves out of the Walsh house to apartment-sit for Sky. She learns that life as an artist is not as romantic as it seems, as Sky's utilities are turned off and her furniture is repossessed. Brenda ei kestä sitä, että hän kokee olevansa ulkopuolinen ja vanhemmat kohtelevat häntä kuin lasta. Hän muuttaa pois kotoa yksiöön, jonka omistaja on rento stand-up-koomikko. Brandon decide di candidarsi come rappresentante di classe e Kelly gli organizza una vera e propria campagna elettorale. Nel frattempo Brenda, vedendo che l'attenzione è concentrata solo per Brandon, medita di lasciare la scuola e seguire una sua amica nel mondo del teatro.

Brenda tęskni za dorosłym życiem. Postanawia ukończyć szkołę eksternistycznie i wyprowadza się z domu. Gdy jednak przekonuje się, jak wygląda prawdziwe życie na własną rękę, wraca do rodziców i do szkoły. Brandon decyduje się kandydować na przewodniczącego klasy. Kampania wyborcza powoduje, że chłopak, zabiegając o kolejne głosy, traci z oczu prawdziwe cele. Dopiero Andrea pomaga mu uświadomić sobie, co jest najważniejsze.

Andrea se hecha atrás en su afán de ser presidenta de la clase, pero quiere que Brandon lo sea, aunque este está un poco reticente en un primer momento. Andrea ayuda a Brandon en su campaña. Steve planea entretanto amañar los votos. Todo el grupo ayuda a Brandon. Dylan visita a su padre en México. Finalmente Brandon dice que el presidente debería ser Michael Miller porque lo merece más. Brenda falta a clase tres días para poder ir a un club de comedia llamado 'Fall Out', donde conoce a Sky, una ex estudiante.

Andrea convence Brandon a disputar o cargo de presidente de classe. Kelly toma o controle da campanha e encoraja Brandon a tirar proveito de sua imagem e sua aparência. Ela até concorda namorar David em troca de sua ajuda para produzir o vídeo da campanha. Brandon decide que ele não é o melhor homem para este trabalho após conversar com seu inteligente e dedicado rival. Brenda, setindo-se negligenciada pela família e amigos, começa a sair para uma casa de café. Sky, uma artista de performance, convence Brenda a abandonar o colegial e pegar o GED dela para realmente experimentar a vida. Brenda sai da casa dos Walsh para morar no apartamento de Sky. Ela aprende que a vida como artista não é tão boa quanto parece ao ver que toda mobília de Sky foi retirada por falta de pagamento.
