The 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards are set to take place October 6 at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Florida, and will air October 10. The nominations were announced on September 15, 2017.
The 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards are a recognition ceremony scheduled to be held October 16 at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Florida. The nominations were announced on September 9, 2018. Drake led the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2018 with eleven nominations, followed by Cardi B with ten. Under them Childish Gambino received six nomination, Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar tied for five nominations, and Jay-Z (credited also as "The Carters" with Beyoncé in Album of the Year, Best Collabo, Duo or Group and Song of the Year categories) with four nominations.
On Oct. 5, the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards will make its triumphant return to Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center after vacationing in Miami for the last two years. After besting his peers with eight nominations in 2018, this year, Drake slides into third place with seven, allowing Cardi B to lead the pack with double-digit honors. After notching four wins at last year’s festivities, Cardi looks to clinch more victories this time around with her 10 nominations including MVP of the Year, hot ticket performer, hustler of the year, best collab, single of the year, made-you-look award, and two nods for the best hip-hop video, & sweet 16 categories.
