Marmalade le Gregor

Gregor Macleod is a huge marmalade fan and makes batches of it every year. He goes in search of the history of this classic preserve and how it came to be such a favourite across the nation. He explores some of the myths surrounding marmalade, finds out about some of its famous fans over the centuries, and speaks to those who still make and love it today. He talks to the daughter of Paddington author, Michael Bond, about why her dad chose marmalade to be the loveable bear’s favourite sandwich filling. In Seville, Gregor visits an organic orange grove where he helps with the harvest. In Dundee, he explores the history of the Keillor family and their long association with marmalade, and visits the nearby Mackays factory where marmalade is still made to this day. Back home on Lewis, he makes two marmalades to enter into the World Marmalade Awards in Penrith. Will either be a winner?
