It's an early start as Barra finds out the mystery of Beaghmore, thought to be Ireland's most extensive single collection of stone circles. He visits the place officially designated Northern Ireland's darkest place at Davagh Forest and gets a sneak preview of the brand new OM Observatory on the site. He joins a woman whose hobby is photographing old and abandoned buildings to uncover the secrets behind a house in the Sperrins. Then there's some fun whitewater rafting on the River Strule before meeting up with a group of amateur film stars in Castlederg.
Barra joins a group practising ice water therapy on the River Roe but gets a surprise when his instructor decides the river just isn’t cold enough and comes up with a real ice bucket challenge instead. He follows the salmon as they journey up Donegal’s River Finn and witnesses an amazing spectacle as they jump over high rocks at Cloghan Leap. Barra also visits the County Tyrone town of Strabane, meeting some of those forced to flee their homes the night the River Mourne burst its banks and flooded the whole town centre.
Barra takes a sailing lesson up the Lough and encounters a few hairy moments at the helm. He meets Garry Crothers, who sailed from the Caribbean back home on his own, a remarkable feat for anyone, but made all the more impressive given Garry only has one arm after an accident. With his sailing skills honed, Barra joins a punt race in some tricky weather conditions and realises there is no such thing as plain sailing! He searches for shark on the Lough before landing back onshore and tasting some of the local stout made with oysters from the Foyle.
