In the first episode of Art World, we explore Baghdad's burgeoning independent film scene, meeting two of its leading directors, Mohamed Al-Daradji (Children of God) and Yahya Al Allaq (War Cannister). Iraqi cinema was devastated during the Gulf War and with the continuous conflict in the region since, artistic endeavors have often been put on hold. In our video, we see how these filmmakers are producing films despite the desolate industry, using real locations, non-professional actors and improvised dialogue
