定期演奏会を終えた海幕高校オーケストラ部。青野たちは手応えをかみしめていた。次は全国コンクール。海幕オケ部は、２年生を中心とした新体制で、連覇を目指し始動する。しかし初日の朝練、ヴァイオリンの人数が思いのほか少ない。さらにパーカッションのセクションリーダー・佐久間が、新コンサートマスターの羽鳥そして弦楽器のメンバーを、辛辣な言葉で挑発する。戸惑う青野、立腹する佐伯と律子。新生オケ部、波乱の幕開け。
The Orchestra club has given their regular concert, and next will be the national competition. They will aim to continue their string of victories, but now with just the first and second-years. However, during the morning practice on the first day, the number of violins was surprisingly small. Furthermore, Sakuma, the leader of percussion, provokes new concertmaster Hatori and the members of the string instruments with harsh words. Aono is confused, and Saeki and Ritsuko are angry.
Die Sommerferien neigen sich dem Ende zu und Aono versinkt in seinen Hausaufgaben. Beim Einkaufen begegnet er zufällig Kozakura, die ihn zu einem Parfait mit Akine einlädt. Die drei fiebern einerseits dem Nationalwettbewerb entgegen, der im November ansteht, spüren aber auch den Druck, der nun auf ihnen lastet, nachdem die Drittklässler ihren Abschluss haben und nicht mehr mit von der Partie sind. Kaum beginnen die Proben wieder, stiftet Sakuma auch schon Unruhe und greift nicht nur Hatori, sondern auch Aono frontal an.
O Clube de Orquestra do Colégio Umimaku acaba de encerrar seu concerto regular. Aono e os demais saboreiam os resultados. A próxima etapa é a Competição Nacional. Com uma nova formação centrada nos alunos do segundo ano, o Clube de Orquestra Umimaku parte com o objetivo de vencer novamente. No entanto, no primeiro ensaio da manhã, o número de violinistas é menor do que o esperado. Além disso, o líder da seção de percussão, Sakuma, provoca o novo spalla, Hatori, e os músicos de cordas com palavras duras. Aono fica confuso, e Saeki e Ritsuko ficam furiosos. O novo clube de orquestra tem um início turbulento.
