ミナト（青木柚）から「結婚願望がない」と突然の別れを告げられた鮎美（夏帆）は、そのことを誰にも告げずに一人暮らしをスタートさせる。だが、気づけば2人分の食事を作ってしまうなど、ふとした時にミナトの不在を実感する…。
一方、勝男（竹内涼真）は、近々鮎美を連れて結婚のあいさつをしに帰ってくると思っている父・勝（菅原大吉）に鮎美と別れたことを言い出せず、後ろめたい気持ちを抱いていた。
そんな中でも、鶏がらスープさえも自分で作り始めるなど、めきめきと料理の腕を上げる勝男。ある日、椿（中条あやみ）からのホームパーティーの誘いに、はりきって用意した小籠包を持参するのだが…。
そして同じ頃、同僚から誘われた婚活パーティーに参加した鮎美は…。
Ayumi is suddenly dumped by Minato, who reveals he has no intention of getting married. Choosing not to tell anyone, she begins living alone, but small habits—like cooking for two—make his absence painfully clear.
Meanwhile, Katsuo struggles to admit to his father that he and Ayumi have broken up, weighed down by guilt as his father expects them to visit for a formal marriage introduction. Despite this, Katsuo continues to improve his cooking skills, even making his own chicken stock from scratch. When he is invited to a home party by Tsubaki, he eagerly brings handmade soup dumplings—but things don’t go as planned.
At the same time, Ayumi attends a matchmaking party with a colleague, setting the stage for new developments in both of their lives.
