بعد وفاة والدتها، تعود مريم للكويت للبحث عن والدها الذي لم يعلم بوجود ابنة له من زوجته التي تزوجها أثناء دراسته بمصر وعاد بعدها للكويت بعد أن طلقها ولم يعلم أنها كانت حامل وعاشت مع والدتها طوال هذه السنوات، فيعرف الأب بوجود ابنه له من زوجته المصرية، لكنه يواجه مشكله بكيفية إخبار أسرته.
