This series depicts a group of young people searching for their own directions in life. 22 year-old Tetsuo repairs cars and looks after his little sister after the death of their parents. Around him is a circle of close childhood friends, all with different dreams and different realities. Takeshi used to be Tetsuo's closest friend but they fell out after an accident. One day Tetsuo and the others come across Takeshi again...

22歳の原島哲生（萩原聖人）は亡き両親が残した自動車修理工場を営んでいた。妹の妙子（山口紗弥加）は両親を亡くしたショックで心を閉ざしており、工場の経営は上手く行っていない。圭介（武田真治）は町医者の父を継ぐため、4浪中。亮子（深津絵里）は女優をめざし、薫（鈴木杏樹）は街を出て商社に勤めている。ある事件がもとで植物人間になってしまった守（堀内一史）、その原因に関与していた事で皆の前から姿を消した武志（木村拓哉）。工場のある薄暗い街で22歳の夢と傷みが交錯する。
