Nous sommes en 1989 dans le petit village de Wamurzelles. Axelle, jeune flic, obtiendra une promotion si elle assure la sécurité du concours annuel de chaises musicales, organisé par Thelma, sa mère. Tout déraille lorsque Thelma est témoin d’une vision d’OVNI et plaque tout pour se lancer à sa recherche avec Steven, jeune enquêteur mystérieux. Mère et fille ne se comprennent pas, Axelle ne croit pas à la vision de Thelma. C’est alors qu’une mystérieuse disparition survient au village…
