في إطار تشويقي تدور أحداث المسلسل بين الطبقتين الكادحة والثرية (طبقة الحيتان)، وذلك من خلال قصة أبو مجبل الذي يكد ليضمن لعائلته حياة كريمة، بالرغم من صعوبات الحياة التي تُحيط به من كل صوب، وعلاقته بحوت السوق جاسم ومحاولة الأخير السيطرة على كل شيء حتى قوت الأهالي.
