'The Vortex' focuses on sexual vanity and drug abuse among the upper classes. Florence (Margaret Johnston), an ageing socialite, has extramarital affairs with younger men. Her talented son Nicky (Nicholas Pennell), meanwhile, struggles with cocaine addiction and repressed homosexuality.
