Unlocking The High Country

The Victorian High Country is an amazing place, as anyone who has had the chance to lock their 4WD into low-range down there could tell you. There's everything from stunning endless grassy plains campsites to incredible wheel-lifting tracks, crystal-clear creeks and more to get the blood pumping. Join Roothy and the boys this issue as they get special permission to venture into areas not opened since 2013's devastating bushfires, on a special mission to report on what they find. Along the way Roothy is reminded of why he keeps coming back to the area time and time again - it's as close to 4WD heaven on earth as you'll ever get! Every issue we bring you the toughest custom 4WDs hitting the tracks, and this month is no different. First we meet with the owner of a cracking dual-cab 76 Series sporting that thumping 4.5L turbo-diesel V8, with an exhaust note you've just gotta hear. Next up is what we reckon is one of the neatest and toughest 120 Series Prados around, and the best part is it has been built entirely at home! Finally we speak with the proud owner of a very special GQ. When you find out why she built this truck, you might find your eyes getting a bit dusty. Plus, we catch up with Roothy as he whips up another Reader Recipe - this time Mexican Spicy Ricey Rissoles. Yep, we're getting hungry just thinking about it! All this and more on the only off-road show worth its weight in diff locks - 4WD Action TV.
