上世纪八十年代初，同住工厂家属区的王雪花、东方红、杨思宇在同一天出生。随着孩子的出生，三家两代人的情感纠葛就在这飞速前进的时代浪潮中一点点展开。王家和杨家父辈之间的矛盾牵累到各自身上，让相爱的两个人分开，而一直在背后默默关注着雪花的东方红终于打动雪花，二人走到了一起。长大成人的三个孩子成为了家庭支柱，三家之间的恩怨矛盾也在平凡的日子中逐渐开解，面对事业、爱情、婚姻、家庭，这些现实的问题，所有人也意识到只有共同携手、勇敢面对，才能一同走向更好的未来。两代人经历过时代的洗礼感情日渐深厚，融入进了不断发展的社会潮流，把各家的日子都越过越好，并且依然初心不改，一直在奔向小康幸福生活的道路上憧憬和努力。
