副総理大臣の大門（山路和弘）が八飛市出身だと気づいた恵那（長澤まさみ）は、新聞記者のまゆみ（池津祥子）に大門の身辺調査を依頼。警察に対し絶大な力を持っていた大門が、事件に何らかの形で関与しているのではないかと考えたのだ。
一方、経理部へ異動した拓朗（眞栄田郷敦）もまた、引き続き事件を追っていた。しかし、新たな手掛かりは何も得られず、調査は八方ふさがり。落ち込む拓朗が村井（岡部たかし）に愚痴をこぼしていると、そこへ、とんでもないニュースが飛び込んでくる。
まゆみから大門に関わる重要人物のリストを手に入れた恵那は、その人物たちを調べてほしいと拓朗にリストを託す。するとその矢先、拓朗の元に意外な人物から電話がかかってきて…。
프라이데이 봉봉'의 폐지 후, 경리부로 좌천된 타쿠로. 그와 달리 에나는 '뉴스8'의 메인 앵커로 화려하게 복귀한다. 하지만 여전히 사건을 쫓는 에나는 현재 부총리인 다이몬이 사건에 연루되었을지도 모른다고 느낀다. 그 와중에 사형수 마츠모토의 DNA 재감정이 결정된다. 검찰에도 양심 있는 사람이 있을지 모른다는 에나의 말에 타쿠로는 반발한다.
When Ena (Nagasawa Masami) notices that Deputy Prime Minister Daimon (Yamaji Kazuhiro) is from Yahi City, she asks newspaper reporter Mayumi (Ikezu Shoko) to investigate Daimon's background. She believes that Daimon, who had tremendous power over the police, may be involved in the case in some way. Meanwhile, Takuro (Maeda Go Atsushi), who has been transferred to the accounting department, also continues to pursue the case. However, the investigation is at a standstill as no new leads are obtained. Depressed, Takuro complains to Murai (Okabe Takashi), when he receives an extraordinary piece of news. Ena gets a list of important people involved with Daimon from Mayumi and asks Takuro to look into them. Just then, Takuro receives a phone call from an unexpected person...
