柏園大茶莊的少爺柏霈文在偶然的機會下認識了摘茶女工章含煙，為她高貴純潔的氣質所折服。於是，經過柏的努力，他們開始了艱苦的戀愛過程。婚後，柏母對曾經做過舞小姐的含煙百般不滿，含煙忍辱負重終於在一次暴雨中出走，下落不明，後來，一場無情大火燒毀了含煙山莊，霈文雙目失明，十年後，含煙舊地重遊回到已成廢墟的含煙山莊，見到了雙目失明的霈文和可愛的女兒，她發現再也離不開他們了……
