从小与母亲丁碧云 在苏北小城相依为命的丁小军，18岁考上了北京的大学，度过一段堕落的生活。丁小军回避母亲，直至发小胖虎出事，并遇到女友余雅。在母亲的鼓励下，丁小军重新振作并顺利毕业，他在北京当起了北漂，却被骗到日本经历几个月的“流浪生活”，体会母亲不易，与母亲在远洋电话里和解之后回到国内。2010年跨年夜，丁小军收到北京公司的录用书，而计划已久的上海之行也将如愿，他安排余雅和母亲在上海见面，想借此辞旧迎新的日子为自己飘摇的青春画上句点。但在这一天里，两个最重要的女人都将离他而去，母亲丁碧云被诊断出肿瘤骨转移，从此母子二人开始了艰难但也温暖的抗癌生活
